Buying a house or condo in Puerto Vallarta naturally comes with a lot of questions, as you learn about living and owning property in Mexico. One of the questions our Puerto Vallarta real estate agents are often asked is about the different agencies for utilities and services for their new home in Mexico. Here is a quick overview of some of the major service providers you will likely need and want.
Electricity: Comisión Federal de Electricidad, commonly known as CFE.
Water: SEAPAL Vallarta
Internet, Cable & Phone: Telmex, Izzi, Cosmored
Cell Phone: Telcel, AT&T, Movistar
Gas: Flogas, Sonigas, Global Gas
It is important to note that while there are different utility providers in Puerto Vallarta, they aren’t always available, depending on your neighborhood or development. For example, some condo buildings will be pre-wired with one Internet/Phone/Cable provider. But generally, utilities in Mexico are reliable and affordable, and your CFE or SEAPAL bill will often be required as proof of residence for things getting a driver’s license or registering a car in Puerto Vallarta.
