A fun, new family-friendly activity has come to Puerto Vallarta just in time for the winter holiday season. With a lavish opening weekend including a gala inauguration dinner and professional show and a free family event attended by noted celebrities including Santa Claus himself, Puerto Magico unveiled its newest attraction: an open-air skating rink.
With a team of ice engineers and a pinch of holiday magic, the management at Puerto Magico has managed to bring a true ice rink to Puerto Vallarta, with the size and surface required to host a professional ice show.
Puerto Magico, located in the Marine Terminal, is already a hub of activity with a host of specialty stores, dining options and tour companies. But this new attraction has gained a lot of attention, and is particularly exciting for Vallarta children, many of whom have never had the opportunity to see an ice rink, let alone go skating. And Puerto Magico has made it an extra-special seasonal event for kids, complete with an oversized decorated tree and opportunities for photos with Santa. The skating rink is open from 12 noon to midnight daily, until the 8th of January.
Another additional service offered at Puerto Magico is a drive-through testing site that offers PCR tests between the hours of 8 am to 5pm with same-day results at a cost of $2000 pesos. Antigen tests cost $650 pesos with results in approximately 20 minutes, available between 8 am and 8 pm, making it one of the most affordable testing sites in Puerto Vallarta, particularly for Canadians who require PCR tests before returning to Canada. Remember to bring your passport along with you. Notably, as a positive public health measure, during the inaugural event for the skating rink, all attendees were given a free and painless rapid test prior to entry to ensure a safe event for the community.
