One of the benefits of owning a home or condo in Puerto Vallarta is how low property taxes are on Mexican real estate investments. Called “Predial”, the rate of local property taxes in Mexico depends on the location of the property and it’s accessed value, however, if you purchase a home in Puerto Vallarta for $300 000 USD you would expect to spend around $250 to $300 USD per year in annual property taxes. Think that is a bargain? There is more! If you pay your Puerto Vallarta home taxes in January or February, you will also receive a 15% early payment discount. Here’s how to do it:
Go online here to pay your pay your Puerto Vallarta property taxes online.
Go in person: you may also pay property taxes at City Hall or the UNIRSRE building in Fluvial.
Remember to have handy a copy of your account number from your pervious year’s taxes and if you have recently bought a Puerto Vallarta property, that information will be included in your packet of documents from your notary. Remember to retain your receipt after payment, in case you need to show it later as proof of payment and to assist in making your tax payment next year.
