As part of our 25th anniversary, we’re celebrating the incredible team that is Tropicasa Realty. In the coming weeks, we’ll be introducing you to some of the amazing people that are not only dedicated to ensuring our clients have exceptional real estate experiences, but are the heart, soul, and success of Tropicasa Realty.
Ian Shepherd: Real Estate Agent
I was born and raised in south Manchester, England and received my degree in Business Administration. After a number of years in the hospitality industry, I changed professions and spent the next 25 years working in medical and clinical marketing, with international posts in Holland, Belgium and finally Mexico City, where I lived for 16 years from 1998. I took Mexican nationality in 2006 and hold British and Mexican passports. A third major career move followed in 2014 when I trained in real estate and joined Tropicasa Realty.
I have always been service-oriented and like interacting with people, a common link between the three careers that I have followed. I love to travel and enjoy getting to know local people in order to understand and enjoy different cultures and traditions. I speak English and Spanish fluently, and in the past lived and worked speaking German and Dutch.
From 10 years of age, I learned and trained in ballroom and Latin American dance, a pastime that have been able to continue with Mexico’s love of music and dancing. I learned to cook during my time in the hospitality industry under a French chef and I like hosting dinner parties at home, with a particular passion for sauces.
I have been visiting Puerto Vallarta since 1996 and bought a condo here in 2009. Over the past 25 years, I have developed strong local connections with the community, and I volunteer for the Vallarta Food Bank preparing food for the homeless and needy in Puerto Vallarta and the surrounding area.
On behalf of the entire Tropicasa team, thank you, Ian, for everything that you do.
