For tapas lovers, a new jewel has opened in the Puerto Vallarta Marina district with the launch of 3Ktrinas. A tiny restaurant tucked into the Nima Bay Shoppes, with a few tables located on the sidewalk in front, 3Ktrinas is sure to become a new favorite on the Puerto Vallarta restaurant scene.
Beautifully plated dishes infuse traditional Spanish tapas with a Mexican twist, that reflects the intertwining of Spanish and Mexican history. Spanish-style tortillas (a potato and egg quiche) share space on the menu next to a very Mexican Pork Pibil, served in the Yucatan-style. Unsurprisingly, as co-owner, Ernesto Paulsen, is a well-known sculptor, each plate is served like a work of art. Small bites with rich, nuanced sauces are certainly a feast for both the eyes and the palate.
The interior is charming, decorated in a rustic yet Mexican-hipster style, featuring many of its namesake Katrinas, an important figure in Mexican culture. 3Katrinas is located in the Nima Bay Shoppes on Calle Popa in the Puerto Vallarta Marina and is open for both lunch and dinner. Call 322 209 0613 and to try this new incredible tapas restaurant in Puerto Vallarta.
